After graduating from Berlin Collegiate Institute in Commercial studies, Edith was a stenographer in Berlin. When she married Robert Menzies in 1919, they bought the house across from the now Joseph Schneider Museum on Queen Street South. the original number was 169 Queen south and then was renumbered to 473 around 1930. The house no longer exists.  When her mother died in 1927, Edith and Robert moved in with her father up the street to 389 Queen South. When her father, Henry died, Edith and Robert continued to live there. She died in that home in 1969. After Robert died in 1971, the house was sold.
